**Job Description**

**The LUCA program**

LUCA is METRO’s strategic SAP S/4HANA Finance transformation program. It safeguards business continuity and addresses security and compliance risks while enabling greater standardization, harmonization and centralization across Finance. Alongside new-country rollouts, the program continuously evolves and supports the productive solution used by countries already live on LUCA.

**Purpose of the role**

Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, the LUCA Release Manager for live countries will act as the central coordination and communication interface between the LUCA program, country organizations, rollout teams and application-support stakeholders. The role ensures that live countries receive timely, clear and actionable information about upcoming solution changes, production releases and rollout activities that may affect their processes, integrations, controls or support operations.

The Release Manager will also establish a structured feedback loop with the countries regarding application-support performance. This includes communicating service trends and improvement actions, consolidating country concerns, coordinating follow-up with responsible service teams, and managing fact-based debriefs after major incidents or escalations. The role combines release governance, country engagement, service-management communication and disciplined stakeholder coordination in a complex international SAP environment.

**Your responsibilities**

Release communication and country readiness

- Own the communication calendar for planned LUCA releases and solution changes affecting countries already operating on the productive platform.
- Translate technical release content into clear, country-relevant messages covering business impact, affected processes and systems, required actions, timing, dependencies and support arrangements.
- Ensure countries receive appropriate advance notice of planned deployments, maintenance activities, testing needs, cutover windows and post-release support.
- Coordinate readiness confirmation from country stakeholders and make gaps, unresolved concerns and local constraints visible before release decisions.
- Maintain an accessible and reliable overview of upcoming changes, release milestones, country impacts and communication status.

Rollout-impact coordination

- Keep live countries informed about rollout activities in other markets that could affect shared environments, interfaces, master data, support capacity, regression testing or operational schedules.
- Coordinate with LUCA rollout, project, test, cutover, release, technical and functional teams to identify impacts on the productive country landscape early.
- Facilitate alignment where rollout activities and live-country priorities compete for environments, resources, deployment windows or support attention.
- Ensure operational implications for live countries are considered in rollout planning and are reflected in stakeholder communications and readiness actions.

Application-support performance communication

- Act as the structured communication interface for country feedback related to application-support quality and operational performance.
- Consolidate recurring concerns, service pain points and improvement requests from live countries and route them to the accountable AMS, service-management and LUCA stakeholders.
- Prepare and facilitate regular service-performance reviews using agreed KPIs, trends, recurring issue themes, improvement actions, risks and decisions.
- Ensure that agreed corrective and preventive actions have clear owners, target dates and transparent follow-up, while avoiding duplication with formal incident and problem-management ownership.
- Provide countries with concise updates on service-improvement measures and the status of concerns they have raised.

Major escalation and incident debriefs

- Coordinate stakeholder communication during major support escalations, ensuring that affected countries receive timely, consistent and fact-based updates.
- Organize and facilitate structured post-incident or post-escalation debriefs with country representatives, LUCA teams, AMS providers and other responsible parties.
- Ensure debriefs capture the business impact, event timeline, communication effectiveness, root-cause status, lessons learned and agreed corrective and preventive actions.
- Track debrief actions through to closure and communicate outcomes to the relevant country and governance stakeholders.
- Promote transparency and learning while maintaining a constructive, objective and solution-oriented approach.

Governance and stakeholder management

- Establish clear communication channels, stakeholder groups, governance routines and escalation paths for LUCA live-country release and service topics.
- Prepare concise release briefings, country updates, management summaries, decision requests and escalation information.
- Build trusted working relationships across country Finance organizations, METRO Digital, LUCA delivery teams, AMS, the System Integrator and other partners.
- Identify communication risks, stakeholder concerns and cross-country dependencies early, and drive clarification and decisions to closure.
- Continuously improve communication formats, feedback mechanisms and stakeholder engagement based on country experience.

**Qualifications**

**Required key competencies and qualifications:**

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Communications or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in SAP delivery, release management, service management, program coordination or stakeholder communication within a large international environment.
- Experience supporting productive SAP solutions and coordinating releases or changes across multiple countries and stakeholder groups.
- Good understanding of SAP S/4HANA Finance delivery and operational concepts, including testing, deployment, cutover, hypercare, incident, problem and change management.
- Experience working with AMS providers, System Integrators, country organizations and central technology teams in a matrix structure.
- Experience facilitating service reviews, major-incident debriefs, lessons-learned sessions or executive stakeholder updates.
- Confident use of collaboration, service-management and reporting tools such as Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, PowerPoint and Excel.
- ITIL, SAP, project-management or change-management certification is advantageous; retail or wholesale experience is beneficial.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong presentation, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Highly structured and dependable, with disciplined planning, follow-up, documentation and action tracking.
- Able to communicate calmly, transparently and credibly during production issues, escalations and periods of uncertainty.
- Collaborative and culturally aware working style suited to distributed international teams and multiple country stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mentality, pragmatic judgement and a visible focus on country impact and service outcomes.
- Willingness and ability to travel when required.
