About the Role
We are seeking experienced NDT Subject Matter Experts with Level II or Level III expertise in laser shearography to support an advanced aerospace inspection project focused on AI training and evaluation.
In this role, you will apply your specialized knowledge to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. Prior AI experience is not required; domain expertise is the primary qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct rigorous manual analysis of laser shearography data, including fringe patterns and interferograms, to identify and characterize composite material defects.
Review and interpret technical case papers, test logs, and inspection limits for aerospace applications using NDT standards.
Evaluate and document defect types, severity, and potential impact on composite structures, providing detailed rationale for decisions.
Deliver comprehensive written feedback on inspection findings to support the development and refinement of technical protocols.
Collaborate remotely with project managers and technical stakeholders through clear, professional written and verbal communication.
Complete all assessments and reviews without AI tools, maintaining the highest standard of manual inspection integrity.
Required Qualifications
Current ASNT, NAS 410, or ISO 9712 Level II or Level III certification in Laser Shearography or related NDT methods.
Extensive hands-on experience with laser shearography, particularly in aerospace or advanced composite inspection scenarios.
Demonstrated expertise interpreting shearography fringe patterns and optical interferometry data for defect evaluation.
Strong analytical skills in defect identification, root cause analysis, and reporting within stringent aerospace standards.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and collaborative problem-solving.
Familiarity with industry best practices for non-destructive inspection of composite materials.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing technical guidance or quality engineering for similar NDT projects.
Direct inspection or review experience in relevant NDT projects.
