# PhD student (m/w/d) (10295) LeiCeM - Leipzig Center of Metabolism

The Faculty of Medicine at Leipzig University, with a tradition spanning more than 600 years, is one of the largest research institutions in the Leipzig region. With over 1,300 employees, it is the largest of the university’s 14 faculties and serves as a training institution for approximately 3,600 students in human medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and midwifery.

### **Responsibilities**
- Integration and interpretation of multi-modal omics data (e.g. scRNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, proteomics, clinical metadata)
- Development and application of bioinformatics analysis pipelines
- Statistical data analysis and methodological development
- Preparation of scientific results (publications, figures, presentations for meetings and conferences)
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with experimental biologists, clinicians, and imaging groups
- Contribution to research project proposals
### **Your Profile**
- Excellent Master’s degree (or equivalent) in bioinformatics, computational biology, biology, biochemistry, medicine, computer science, or a related field
- Solid understanding of molecular biology concepts (e.g. gene expression, cell types, signaling pathways)
- Initial experience with high-throughput data (RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, proteomics, or comparable technologies)
- Proficiency in scientific data visualization (e.g. ggplot2, seaborn)
- Structured and independent working style combined with strong teamwork skills
- *Optional:* experience with Linux/HPC environments, Git, Conda/Docker; prior exposure to single-cell or spatial transcriptomics
