As an Accelerator Physicist, you will play a central role in our specialised Accelerator Concept, Design and Commissioning Group and have the unique opportunity to work directly on particle accelerators. Your varied tasks will range from beam commissioning of our accelerators to the design and development of new accelerators and the creation of test cases and requirements. You will work in a meaningful environment where your expertise will contribute directly to the further development of our technology and ultimately to improving the quality of life of our patients.
A job where you can make a difference:
* Perform beam commissioning of our accelerators
* Contribute to the design and engineering of new accelerators
* Perform simulations and data analysis
* Participate in the risk analysis of the accelerators with a focus on beam behavior and support in the creation of test cases and requirements
* Provide expert level support for our Operations & Service Department (on-call) and participate in debugging and quality assurance tasks
Skills that make you our strength:
* Completed academic studies (Master, DI or PhD) in physics or similar
* Professional experience in accelerator physics, ideally in (medical) synchrotron-based facilities is desireable
* Expertise in longitudinal beam dynamics is a great asset
* Fluency in verbal and written English; German is an advantage
* Programming languages such as Python is
* Knowledge of XSuite / MAD-X is an advantage
* Solid MS Office knowledge
* Willingness to work on call (up to 10 days per year)
* Willingness to work in shifts (up to 100% of working time during commissioning of new accelerators)
* Analytical skills and an affinity for facts and figures
* You are a flexible person with an independent and structured approach to work

For legal reasons, we are obliged to point out that the minimum gross annual salary for this position is € 46,200 with a willingness to pay above the standard rate, depending on professional qualifications and experience.
