The **Cluster of Excellence “Responsible Electronics in the Climate Change Era – REC2”** offers a full-time position as
**Science Communication Manager** (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting **January 1, 2026.** The position is limited until December 31, 2032 (time limitation pursuant to TzBfG).
The new **REC²** Cluster of Excellence is seeking an experienced individual with in-depth knowledge of science communication who can contribute vision and commitment to shaping the cluster's internal and external communications, including marketing, public relations and knowledge transfer. In this key role, you will have a significant impact on REC²'s public image and address a wide range of target groups.
**Tasks**:
- **Strategic communication:** strategic and conceptual development, implementation and continuous advancement of scientific communication for the cluster's research and activities, aimed at scientific and non-scientific target groups in Germany and abroad, including the development of communication strategies and concepts in line with the strategic and operational goals of TU Dresden.
- **Media relations:** Main contact person for media representatives, project partners, the university press office and external service providers. Proactive management of press enquiries and public relations, ensuring a reliable, authoritative and consistent external image to guarantee a uniform and positive public image for REC². Drafting press releases and other editorial articles to present scientific topics within the cluster in a manner appropriate to the target group, taking into account the quality criteria of good science communication. Particular emphasis is placed on online media, social networks and multimedia formats (e.g. video/film).
- **Target group-oriented communication:** Conducting needs analyses to define relevant target groups and communication requirements in view of the constantly changing, multiple and complex communication needs in line with the strategic and operational goals of the cluster. Identifying suitable media channels and content strategies for each target group and monitoring the success of the measures.
- **Project management:** Obtaining quotes from external service providers (e.g. graphic design, video production) and preparing the awarding of contracts. Coordinating and monitoring service contracts to ensure high-quality and timely implementation.
- **Content and design coordination:** Coordination with design teams and print/media production. Ensuring a professional, consistent external image in all publications, graphics and advertising materials in accordance with the REC² corporate design.
- **Editorial tasks:** Editorial support for central communication channels (website, newsletter, press releases, social media, etc.) in German and English. Ensuring a consistent, appealing style and accurate content.
- **Event organisation:** Planning, coordination and implementation of events in the field of science communication and public relations (e.g. press conferences, lecture series, workshops, trade fair appearances). Supporting the cluster's researchers in presenting their research results to the public.
**Requirements:**
- university degree in media and communication studies, journalism, public relations or a similar relevant field
- professional experience in PR, science communication, media communication and event organization
- ability to communicate complex issues in a way that is understandable to both specialist and lay audiences
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English;
- creativity, design skills; enjoyment of conceptual and strategic work
- willingness to integrate into the existing team and to undertake occasional business trips to Würzburg
