Senior Accountant

Your responsibilities
* Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
* Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled and financial transactions are recorded properly.
* Manage the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
* Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis to support management in decision-making.
* Review and analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
* Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
* Collaborate with internal departments, including operations, procurement, and sales, to gather necessary data for financial reporting.
* Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial reports.
* Monitor cash flow and ensure proper controls are in place for the company’s financial transactions.
* Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
* Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with management to implement best practices.
Your profile
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
* Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
* Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and COGS analysis is highly preferred.
