The Failure Analysis Team’s mission is to determine root cause and contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla products by reducing field issues, in collaboration with large cross-sections of other engineering teams. You will be responsible for a wide variety of Energy Product systems like Powerwall, Megapack and Supercharger that have high visibility and direct customer impact.
We are seeking a multi-faceted individual who will be responsible for all aspects of product teardown to component level, identifying, analyzing, root causing, implementing countermeasures, and reporting on issues effecting systems including power electronics, low voltage, and battery systems among others.
To be effective, the Technician will need to be intimately familiar with the detailed behavior of electrical components and tools for testing and debugging printed circuit boards. They will work with other engineering teams to quickly determine root cause and implement countermeasures of field issues to improve quality, reliability, and durability of the products.
### Was zu tun ist
* 1+ years of experience with PCB debugging required
* 2+ years of lab experience preferred
* Strong demonstrable experience with electrical test equipment: Power Supplies, Multimeter, Oscilloscopes, and other common equipment
* Extremely proficient at reading schematics and troubleshooting analog and digital circuits
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
* Proficient in data entry and writing procedures

* Drive issue resolution from root cause analysis to countermeasure implementation on electromechanical components from Tesla’s Energy Products
* Use analytical tools and techniques including electrical debug, component level inspection, and functional testing
* Work closely with engineers to help solve technical problems you spot
* Create clear, step-by-step debug procedures for other technicians to use
* Apply strong attention to detail to ensure issues are resolved accurately
* Take ownership of tasks and work independently when needed
* Convey findings effectively with the team through excellent verbal and written communication
