**Senior Process Engineer (m/w/d)**
In this role, you will be a key player for optimizing production processes and flows for cultures and probiotics as well as being a referent towards process equipment in existing footprints in EMEA. An important part of your responsibility is to find, promote and execute optimization opportunities in the production process. Secondly you will also be responsible for delivering process and equipment basic data, plant layout, utility needs, basic process engineering and commissioning of the modified or new equipment/process lines. As the main subject matter expert, you engage in implementing best process and equipment practices and work closely with the capital project team leaders, process engineers, and operations/maintenance. Globally, you ensure connection with different sites and engineering groups (Capital and Manufacturing Technology) to start up and maintain standards and best practices in process design for the business.

- Drive continuous improvement as a change agent, enhancing production processes for cost efficiency, capacity increases, and reduced complexity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex process technology issues to ensure stable and efficient operations.
- Lead the development and maintenance of global process design standards and equipment guidelines.
- Translate business, operations, safety, and process needs into clear project scopes and engineering requirements.
- Perform mass and energy balances to select fit‑for‑purpose process equipment.
- Develop process designs, including PFDs, P&IDs, utilities, and equipment specifications.
- Define process control needs and collaborate with automation teams on functional analyses.
- Execute RTO activities (FAT/SAT, qualification steps) for new or modified systems.
- Support Process Safety Management workflows, including HIRAs, MOCs, and PSSR activities.
**What Makes You the Right Fit**
- Master’s degree or engineering background in Biotechnological, Chemical, or Biochemical Engineering.
- Demonstrated years’ experience in biotech or industrial production environments.
- Demonstrated success leading and executing industrial‑scale continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of pumps, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, and piping integration in production units.
- Solid understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and batch process control.
- Expertise in fermentation, separation, and stabilization technologies.
- Deep commitment to food safety regulations and the ability to apply standards such as FSSC22000, 21 CFR part 111, and EHEDG.
- Working knowledge of industrial microbiology and biotechnology.
- Willingness to travel within the EMEA region as needed.
- Proficient in German (spoken and written)
