We are seeking an experienced **Network Engineer** to join our **Professional Service Development** team. In this role, you will leverage your experience in enterprise networking, network security, WiFi/802.11 infrastructures and virtualization to design and develop Philips Professional Services that that complement the Philips **Patient Monitoring** solutions.
You will work in an **agile environment**, collaborating closely with **Product Managers**, **Product Owners, Service Architects **and other** engineering functions **to ensure networking requirements from Philips network specification documents, such as VLAN design, routing, WiFi infrastructure behavior, security policies, and multicast are accurately reflected in service concepts and deployment models.
**We seek an engineer with broader capabilities who can:**
- Understand healthcare network architectures and Philips networking standards
- Communicate clearly within cross‑functional teams
- Propose best‑practice improvements
- Support test‑lab environments and infrastructure validation
- Apply Philips network guidelines (VLANs, routing, STP/RSTP, WiFi design, Multicast/IGMP, DHCP/DNS, QoS) into service design
**Your role**
- Provide networking expertise for the design and development of new **Professional Services**.
- Ensure compliance with **Philips network standards**: Layer 2/3 design, VLANs, STP/RSTP, routing protocols, security filtering (ACLs/firewalls), QoS, Multicast routing (PIM), IGMP Snooping, DHCP/DNS architecture, and WiFi requirements.
- Apply 802.11 deployment principles (coverage, roaming, RSSI/SNR thresholds, channel planning, transmit‑power alignment) in service‑related designs.
- Set up and maintain the **Professional Services test lab**, including virtual infrastructure, network topologies, VLANs, routing, WiFi components, and security controls.
- Support integration of Philips products into customer networks, ensuring correctness of segmentation, redundancy, WiFi behavior, Multicast operation, and cloud connectivity.
- Validate service concepts through lab testing, performance measurements, troubleshooting, and interoperability checks.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Service Architects to ensure network requirements are considered early in feature and service definition.
- Act as a central contact for the Philips network engineer community for network services and product network design questions
- Provide technical guidance and best practices for **Healthcare IT infrastructure**, including **network** and **cloud security** and **network resilience**.
**You’re the right fit if**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking or infrastructure engineering.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is highly valued.
- Proven experience in **network engineering**, **network security**, and **cloud computing** (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar).
- Strong understanding of:
- Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, STP/RSTP, routing protocols
- Multicast (IGMP v2/v3, PIM) and its relevance to clinical monitoring systems
- WiFi/802.11 network design (RSSI/SNR thresholds, roaming behavior, channel planning, DFS considerations, QoS/WMM)
- DHCP/DNS design, IP addressing, NAT limitations, segmentation, and security controls
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with virtualization platforms and containers (VMWare, Nutanix, Hyper-V, Docker).
- Familiarity with **Philips Patient Monitoring solutions** and their network/security requirements.
- Understanding of **agile development methodologies**.
- Knowledge of **AI concepts**
- 5+ years of experience in solution and service delivery.
