About the Role

Major Accountabilities

· Design, plan, perform and document analytical experiments for protein characterization with focus on mass spectrometry (LC-MS, HPLC)

· Review raw data and interpret analytical results

· Take responsibility for analytical equipment; perform maintenance and qualification activities

· Ensure compliance with quality, ethics, safety, environmental and information security standards; support continuous improvement

· Independently write protocols, scientific reports and procedures

· Develop and optimize analytical methods and support implementation of new technologies

· Perform literature searches and promote knowledge sharing

· Collaborate across groups and sites; guide, train and support colleagues

· Participate in or lead scientific sub-teams and project activities

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

· University degree, preferably PhD, in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or equivalent

· Experience in mass spectrometry

· Can-do mentality, adaptability and enthusiasm for digitalization and automation

· Excellent knowledge of analytical approaches for biopharmaceuticals

· Hands-on LC-MS experience

· Excellent knowledge of MS data analysis software such as Xcalibur, Genedata Expressionist, Chromeleon, PEAKS or Skyline

· Experience with laboratory and technical equipment, e.g. Orbitrap LC-MS systems

· Strong scientific and technical writing and presentation skills

· Digital-first working style using data and emerging technologies

· Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English

· German language skills are an advantage

Desirable Requirements

· Broad knowledge of protein, peptide and glycan separation approaches

· Knowledge of Python and R
