PhD position - studying the role of mitochondrial cristae membrane dynamics and metabolic regulation
The work will be done at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology I, Medical School, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany under supervision of Prof. Andreas Reichert. We are an international team with a highly motivating working environment. We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student studying the link between mitochondrial cristae membrane dynamics and regulation of metabolic fluxes in mammalian cells. We aim to decipher the role of the MICOS complex in this context further. The successful candidate must bring:
a master degree (or equivalent) in biochemistry, biophysics, biology, chemistry, or other closely related fields of natural sciences.
experience in laboratory work using a broad spectrum of methods in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology.
very good proficiency in writing and speaking English.
strong interest to work in an international team
a deep scientific interest in a challenging unresolved question
general passion and high motivation to work in science
Job Position
A PhD position (E13, 65%, DFG-funded) starting 1.5.2026 for the period of three years is offered.
