As an international non-profit organization, our goal is to give as many blood cancer patients worldwide as possible a second chance at life and provide access to stem cell transplants. To help even more patients, we regularly need dedicated and highly qualified employees with strong personalities. The DKMS Life Science Lab gGmbH in Dresden performs the molecular typing of the HLA characteristics of all DKMS donors and is the world's largest HLA tissue typing laboratory. Our internationally accredited laboratory sequences more than one million samples annually, donated by DKMS donors.
The Translational Assay Development department at the Life Science Lab transforms molecular methods from the development stage into finished products in the field of immunogenetics, playing a key role in fulfilling DKMS’s mission.
For our Translational Assay Development team in Dresden, we are looking for a Research Assistant (m/f/d) Translational Assay Development to join us as soon as possible (full-time, permanent position).
Independent planning, execution, documentation, and evaluation of laboratory experiments
Contribute to the transfer of newly developed innovative molecular biology methods from research into routine application
Develop standardized sample processing protocols (SOPs)
Assist in the technical validation of new methods regarding sensitivity, specificity, reproducibility, robustness, and accuracy
Monitor and perform control tests for manufacturing processes, routine workflows, and assay performance
Collaborate and communicate within multidisciplinary project teams and with various project partners
Support the organization of efficient laboratory workflows
Completed MTA training or an equivalent qualification (such as BTA / CTA) or a Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field
Strong practical experience with molecular biology methods (DNA, RNA), experiences with NGS are advantageous
Independent, reliable, and conscientious working style
Good problem-solving skills and organizational ability
Strong communication skills
Good command of English (B2) and fluent German (B2)
