# Doctoral Position in Macroeconomics

The University of Konstanz is a dynamic and internationally successful research university with approximately 10,000 students. The campus university’s architecture promotes interdisciplinary cooperation and a sense of community among researchers, lecturers and students. The University of Konstanz has been continuously funded by the German Excellence Strategy since 2006.
The [Chair of Macroeconomics](https://www.wiwi.uni-konstanz.de/niemann/team/prof-dr-stefan-niemann/) (Professor Dr. Stefan Niemann) at the Department of Economics of the University of Konstanz is inviting applications for a position as a PhD candidate. The initial contract will have a duration of three years (with a possible extension). The successful candidate will also be enrolled in the [GSBS doctoral program](https://www.gsbs.uni-konstanz.de).
## Your Responsibilities
- Assist in teaching and tutoring at the Chair of International Macroeconomics
- Conduct research in Macroeconomics
- Develop and apply quantitative macroeconomic theories and methods
- Publish in academic journals and present at conferences
- Collaborate on research projects with academic partners
## Your Competencies
- Strong written and oral communications skills in English
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
- Interest in research questions addressed by the research group
- A very good scientific graduate degree in economics or a related field (e.g. mathematics, physics or computer science) is mandatory
