Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role
* Research and Learning: Learn about Infineon's high-voltage automotive discrete power semiconductor switches and gain a deep understanding of the wideband gab technologies (Silicon Carbide MOSFETs & JFETs), as well as state of the art Silicon Super Junction MOSFETs
* Skill Development: Improve skills in circuit simulations, PCB design and thermal management using state-of-the-art tools to enhance technical capabilities and expertise
* Study and Evaluation: Study different advanced Power Semiconductor Packages, new application topologies and develop an evaluation scheme to scientifically compare them and identify optimal solutions
* Design and Prototyping: Design, build and evaluate a working hardware prototype of an power electronic system to demonstrate practical application of knowledge and skills
* Documentation and Reporting: Document results and findings by writing and submitting a Master's thesis, presenting a comprehensive and well-structured report of the research and development process
This thesis has to be written in cooperation with a university.

Type of employment: Temporary / Full-time (flexible working hours from Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.)
Duration: min. 6 months
Your Profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
* Education: Pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or a similar field
* Knowledge and Technical Skills: Proficient in Altium or Cadence PCB design, with knowledge of software tools such as LTspice or SIMetrix and Plecs, MATLAB or mechanical design tools (3D CAD) as a plus
* Hands-on Experience: Basic competence in working in a lab environment and experience with mechanical tools, as well as soldering skills are required
* Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, independently structure research and writing processes, and a mindset motivated to explore new topics
* Teamwork: capable of working effectively in an international team
* Language Skills: Fluent in English, German is a plus
This position is subject to the collective agreement for workers and employees in the electrical and electronics industry (full-time), employment group D for master students (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2025.pdf).
