# Full Professorship (W3) in Medieval History
### ### (Full-time, Salary level W3)

The Department of **Department of History, Sociology, Sports Science and Empirical Educational Research**, Faculty of the Humanities, seeks to fill this position by **October 1, 2026**.
The successful candidate is expected to represent Medieval History in both research and teaching across a broad chronological and thematic spectrum. Teaching takes place in the major and minor subjects of BA, MA and, above all, teacher training programmes (B.Ed. and M.Ed.). The applicant is expected to represent Medieval history broadly in terms of content and chronology in research and teaching. In addition, a willingness to participate in trans-epochal and interdisciplinary activities of the department is expected. Experience in acquiring third-party funding is an advantage. A relevant doctorate and habilitation, or equivalent academic achievements in Medieval history, are required.
In all other respects, the hiring requirements for professorships follow from § 47 paragraph 1,2 of the Landeshochschulgesetz.
