### Purpose of your Job
As a Group Leader in Drug Product Characterization at Coriolis Pharma, you will take on a central leadership role within our scientific operations. You will be responsible for guiding a team of experts in liquid chromatography (LC) to deliver high-quality analytical services for biopharmaceutical development. Your mission is to ensure the smooth execution of client projects, drive scientific excellence, and foster team growth—all while aligning operational performance with strategic business goals.
You will act as a key interface between your team, internal stakeholders, and our clients, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest scientific standards. In this role, you will shape the future of analytical development at Coriolis through innovation, collaboration, and leadership.
### Your Responsibility
Leadership & People Development:
- Lead a team of highly motivated scientists focused on characterizing biopharmaceutical molecules using liquid chromatography (HPLC)
- Build and expand the team both qualitatively and quantitatively, including recruiting new talent
- Oversee onboarding, performance reviews, and individual development plans
- Act as the disciplinary manager for your team members
Operational & Business Accountability:
- Responsible for the group’s sales and revenue targets
- Ensure operational success and effective project execution
- Manage resources including capacity planning and KPI tracking
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., Commercial Unit, Finance, Technical Support)
- Promote innovation and maintain cutting-edge expertise in LC techniques (SEC, IEX, RP)
- Support implementation of innovation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards within the group
### What you need to succeed
- Master’s degree or equivalent in (bio)chemistry, biology, pharmacy, medical sciences, or a related field; PhD is a strong advantage
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within an interdisciplinary and international scientific environment
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
- Solid expertise in project and resource management, including strategic planning, prioritization, delegation, and risk management
- Hands-on experience in drug product characterization using liquid chromatography (LC) technologies (e.g., SEC, IEX, RP) is highly desirable
- Strong business acumen with a results-driven mindset and the ability to align scientific excellence with commercial goals
- Inspirational leadership style: lead by example, foster innovation, and promote a collaborative team culture
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
