### What to Expect
Location: Berlin, GermanyDuration: 6 months Time type: Full TimeStart date: March 2026As an intern engineer for the Exteriors Team, you will be part of one of the most creative and dynamic engineering teams and, under proper guidance, you will have direct responsibilities for designing, releasing and launching components for future vehicle lines including, but not limited to Front & Rear Fascia Assemblies, Wheel Liners, Underhood, Underbody Trim and exterior lighting.You will be part of the team that designs and executes complex exterior vehicle systems in terms of styling, function and quality. You will have the chance to gain experience working in one or more of these commodities and developing skills required for becoming a vehicle engineer in order to design and deliver entire systems rather than just components.You will report to the Engineering Manager of Exterior&Lighting Systems.
### What You’ll Do
* Improve skills related to packaging & layout within vehicle architecture
* Help senior colleagues to work on detail design including datum & fixation strategy, GD&T
* Use your technical knowledge to interpret CAE simulation results and integrate recommendations into product design
* Collaborate with key suppliers for approving tooling designs for block out and manufacturing
* Use your expertise to complete and release component & sub system design, utilizing a mix of in-house design and supplier engineering where required
* Support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Tesla (Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Procurement groups) to ensure system manufacturing and assembly feasibility and serviceability
* Help the team to design to deliver customer-driven exterior system targets for craftsmanship, function, cost and weight
### What You’ll Bring
* Pursuing or recently completed a degree with emphasis on Mechanical or Automotive engineering
* Strong background in engineering fundamentals, materials, part and assembly design
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across the organization
* Hands-on innovator high level of creativity
* Proficiency in CAD (Catia V5/V6 is a plus)
* Eligibility to work full-time in Germany
