Beschreibung
The Centre for Organismal Studies Heidelberg (COS Heidelberg) is a central scientific institution of Heidelberg University with 23 research groups representing the entire breadth of the life sciences in research and teaching. The following position (full time (100%, 39,50 hrs/week), limited to the end of 2026) is now available in the research group *Stem Cell Niche Heterogeneity* of Dr. Josephine Bageritz.
The Bageritz lab is looking for a motivated cell and molecular biologist to support the continued development of the laboratory and to contribute to an engaged and cooperative team culture. Our group uses and develops cutting-edge single-cell imaging and spatial transcriptomics techniques to gain insights into the molecular mechanisms that drive cell fate, tissue patterning, and skeletal muscle development, with a particular focus on understanding muscle stem cell biology and their fate decisions.
**Lab technician / Lab manager (f/m/d) **
**Tasks:**
- Animal experimentation work using the model organism *Drosophila melanogaster*
- Immunofluorescence staining and sample preparation for *Drosophila* samples
- Setting up genetic crosses in *Drosophila*
- Imaging using confocal microscopy
- Image analysis using Fiji and established R pipelines
- Cell isolation for single-cell RNA-seq and library preparation (no previous experience required)
- Contribution to general laboratory organization, such as: instrument maintenance, lab calendar, ordering, inventory, maintaining stocks, and training students
- Onboarding and training of new group members or visitors in technologies and protocols used in the laboratory
**Skills required:**

- Very good practical experience and theoretical knowledge of cell and molecular biology methods
- Molecular and biochemical lab skills (immunofluorescence staining, confocal microscopy)
- Sample preparation for single-cell RNA sequencing
