The Junior Researcher will be based in Villach at the CUAS Campus and will support ongoing research projects at AD-MiRE, with a particular focus on design for additive manufacturing, 3D printing and lab operations.
Responsibilities:
º Conduct research within applied research projects in the area of 3D printing and simulation-driven design
º Carry out and ensure high-quality CAD design and FEM simulations
º 3D-printing and lab equipment (maintenance, troubleshooting, ensuring reliable operation)
º Assist in translating research outcomes into teaching
º Co-supervision of bachelor theses related to ongoing research projects
º Support proposal preparation for public research funding and cooperation with industry partners
º Actively represent the research group at events (internally and externally) and conferences
We are looking for a motivated researcher to strengthen our interdisciplinary team at the ADMiRE Research Center. Our mission is to advance application-oriented research in the fields of additive manufacturing, robotics, and embedded sensor systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that combine intel-ligent design, advanced materials, and integrated functionality to address real-world challenges in industry and society.
Your profile:
º Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Light Weight Engineering, or a related technical field
º Experience in CAD-based design for AM with focus on function integration
º Parametric and simulation-driven part modeling
º Optimization of AM components for mechanical performance, material usage, and recyclability
º Proficiency in FEM simulation and structural optimization (e.g., Ansys)
º Knowledge in materials and design strategies for additive manufacturing
º Practical 3D-printing experience and enthusiasm for lab/machine operation
º Willingness to contribute to publication/dissemination activities
º German language skills are absolutely essential (C1 level); Fluency in English (B2 level)
º Strong team spirit, intercultural competence, and high integrity in scientific work

º Minimum salary: EUR2.990,13 gross per month (full time, 14 salaries a year), negotiable based on qualifications and experience. According to Austrian law, we are obliged to state the minimum salary.
