Mitochondrial metabolism and genome regulation
About us
Our research group at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) explores the dynamic coordination between mitochondria and metabolism to reveal how metabolic pathways regulate mtDNA homeostasis and mitochondrial function. We combine cell biology, advanced imaging, proteomics, metabolomics, and genetic approaches across yeast, mammalian cells, and mouse models. The lab is located in a highly collaborative environment within the Göttingen Research Campus, which hosts several internationally leading institutes, including the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences. Yours tasks
· Conduct an independent research project within a collaborative team;
· Apply and develop wet-lab experimental approaches in metabolism and cell biology;
· Analyze and interpret complex datasets;
· Present & communicate research results at national and international scientific meetings;
Your qualifications
· You are a curious and enthusiastic scientist who can work independently but also in a team.
· You should hold a BSc/MSc degree in life sciences such as molecular and cell biology, biochemistry or a related subject.
· Fluent English language skills (written and spoken) are required.
We offer
· You will work in a high-impact research field with biomedical relevance embedded in the collaborative environment of the Göttingen Campus including several supportive facilities and inspiring research consortia.
· Small and diverse research group with a strong team spirit and an open-minded, collaborative and respectful working atmosphere.
· Fixed termed position (65%) for 3 years, salary will be in accordance to the German Public Sector Collective Agreement (TV-L).
