The Ackermann Group explores new frontiers in catalysis through ligand design, C–H activation in 3d transition metals, and emerging methodologies in photocatalysis, electrochemistry, and flow chemistry. Unlocking new synthetic possibilities via remote functionalization and peptide diversification. Integrating computational studies and data-driven strategies to enhance efficiency, predictive tools and mechanistic understanding in catalysis.
The prospective PhD student will
work in an interdisciplinary, inclusive, supportive, and international research environment
develop innovative strategies for sustainable catalysis
receive personal supervision, a structured training, and regular feedback
will collaborate with international partners
be guided to supervise undergraduate students
Your profile
You…
hold or will soon hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry or related areas,
have experience in organic synthesis, catalysis and ideally electro- or photocatalysis
have very good communication skills in written and spoken English,
have a high degree of personal initiative and team spirit
