## **About us**
We’re on a mission to revolutionize how the world produces protein – and we’re just getting started.
Pacifico is a Leipzig-based biotech company producing the world’s most cost-competitive texturized protein through fermentation. Our technology makes sustainable, high-quality protein cheaper than conventional meat production – not just better for the planet, but better for you.
Our production site near Chemnitz is where science meets scale: industrial fermentation systems, food-grade processing lines, and a team that moves fast. Currently, we are scaling our production and are looking for a Process Operator (m/w/d) to support the day-to-day facility operations at our production site in Chemnitz area.
## **The role**
In this role, you will support the operations of our fermentation facility and all related processing steps. You will work closely with a Senior Process Lead and will be trained on our equipment, processes, and quality standards.
The role is strongly **hands-on and operational**, with a focus on running equipment, preparing materials, and supporting production. Working hours are initially within typical daytime working hours; as production scales, openness to late and occasional weekend shifts is valued.
## **Your main tasks**
- Preparation of fermentation media (weighing, mixing, heating, handling raw materials)
- Operating fermentation tanks and auxiliary equipment
- Monitoring basic process parameters (e.g. temperature, time, filling levels)
- Cleaning and sanitising equipment (CIP systems and manual cleaning)
- Supporting downstream processing (emptying tanks, handling and processing biomass)
- Maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety in the facility
- Documenting basic production activities and flagging issues when they arise
## **Your profile**
- Practical experience in food & beverage or similar manufacturing environments
- Comfortable working in a production setting with physical tasks and machinery
- Careful, reliable, and quality-oriented working style
- Interest in food production and fermentation processes
- Ability to work well in a small team and communicate clearly on the shop floor
- Basic working knowledge of German or English
## **Nice to have**
- Experience in a brewery, dairy or fermentation-based production
- Technical or vocational training in a relevant field
- Familiarity with hygiene standards and food safety practices
- Experience with CIP systems or industrial cleaning routines
## **What we offer**
- A full-time role with clear responsibilities and growth opportunities
- 27 days of paid holiday per year
- Subsidy for the Germany Ticket (“Deutschland-Ticket”)
- Hands-on training and close collaboration with experienced colleagues
## **How to apply**
A short CV/brief overview of your previous work experience is sufficient.
