The Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization (ISTO) at LMU Munich School of Management conducts academically rigorous and phenomenon-driven research and teaching in the domain of strategy, organization design and platform markets, building on our principal tenets of quantitative management research. We present our research at international conferences and publish in leading journals, offering access to an international research network. We are committed to placing our researchers on the international academic job market. Prior placements include Bocconi University, Copenhagen Business School, IE Madrid, Rotterdam School of Management, Imperial College London, Amsterdam Business School, among others.

We are looking for you:
# Research and Teaching Assistant (m/f/x)
in München
## Your tasks and responsibilities:
As part of our team, you will conduct quantitative empirical research in the domain of strategy, organization design and platform markets in close collaboration with Professor Daniel Obermeier, Professor Tobias Kretschmer and other team members. You will also gain experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and seminars, and support BSc and MSc students in their thesis work.
## Your qualifications:
You hold an excellent academic record and a Master’s degree or equivalent in Management, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field. In your studies, you will have gained some experience in working with empirical methods, especially large-scale datasets. Ideally, you would have some prior research experience or work experience in a relevant domain, like a research institute or an analytical role in a company.
You are intellectually curious, possess strong analytical capabilities, and have a strong interest in pursuing an international academic career. You are enthusiastic about conducting quantitative empirical research motivated by real-life phenomena in the domain of strategy, organization design and platform markets. You complement our team with your strong organizational skills, are proactive and persistent, able to work both independently and collaboratively, and possess excellent English communication skills (written and oral).
## Benefits:
The position is initially for two years with an option to extend, with a starting date to be arranged based on mutual agreement, but ideally by 1 September 2026. You will have the opportunity to study towards a PhD at ISTO as part of the position.
