About the role The AI Research Division of Agile Robots is looking for a Robotics Engineer focused on learning-based manipulation. You should bring around 2–3 years of hands-on experience where robotics, control, and machine learning intersect. The role sits at the crossroads of tactile sensing, visual perception, and learning-based control, building capabilities that enable robots to perform fine-grained, contact-rich manipulation. If you’ve worked with Transformers, Imitation Learning, RL, or tactile/force-feedback systems, this will feel like the right playground for you.Your Responsibilities
• Vision–Tactile Fusion & Multimodal Learning: Build learning pipelines combining high-resolution vision, tactile, and force-torque signals.
• Learning-Based Control: Develop and refine ML-driven control strategies for precise, contact-rich manipulation.
• Sim-to-Real Deployment: Train, evaluate, and deploy models across MuJoCo/Isaac/Gazebo and real robot hardware.
• Debugging & Stability: Analyze tactile feedback, compliance behaviour, and policy stability to improve performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with robotics, perception, and ML colleagues to prototype, iterate, and scale manipulation solutions.
Essential Skills
• Robotics & Deep Learning: Strong background in deep learning, multimodal perception, Transformers, and control for manipulation.
• IL/RL Experience: Solid understanding of Imitation Learning and Reinforcement Learning methods.
• Simulation & Deployment: Hands-on experience with MuJoCo, Isaac, Gazebo, and practical sim-to-real workflows.
• Coding & Frameworks: Strong Python/C++ skills with PyTorch/TensorFlow and ROS2.
• System Fluency: Understanding of robotics communication protocols (e.g., DDS/RTPS) plus strong debugging and communication skills.
Beneficial Skills
• Tactile/Haptic Systems: Experience with tactile sensing or force-feedback setups.
• Model Serving & DevOps: Familiarity with TorchServe/TF-Serving, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Research Exposure: Publications in Robotics, ML, or CV are a plus.
