Position title: SAP Product Security Response iXp Intern (f/m/d)– Product Security Engineer
Location: Walldorf
Internship duration: 8 to 12 months


SAP Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) manages coordinated disclosure of vulnerabilities on all SAP products and cloud solutions. As part of Global Security Operations, PSIRT is a global organization with responsibility in SAP products and technologies incident response. We partner with external security researchers and customers, as well with internal stakeholders in legal, media relations, and customer support to accurately representing SAP’s position on publicly discussed / disclosed vulnerabilities.


SAP PSIRT has regional hubs in Germany, India, and Canada.


This internship provides the opportunity to develop innovative concepts and prototypes focused on process improvements and automation. It is research-oriented, requiring critical thinking and adaptability. As you gain insights, you will adjust the scope and methods to create practical, evidence-based improvements.


You will gain an end-to-end understanding of Product Security Response tasks and processes. You will acquire real-world experience with process automation, compliance governance and agile delivery practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in a professional software development setting.


What You’ll Bring


We’re looking for someone who takes the initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.


- You are a Master's student (f/m/d) enrolled at a university or university of applied sciences
- Your preferred fields of study include Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or Cyber Security
- You possess technical skills such as:
o    Programming experience, preferably in Python
o    Familiarity with GitHub and version control management
- A proactive problem-solving mindset
- The ability to work independently
- Domain knowledge is a plus, such as understanding OSS (open-source software) vulnerability databases and scanners
- You have full working proficiency in English, and German skills are a plus
- Your soft skills include being self-driven, having a sense of urgency, and being an open-minded team player with attention to detail
- Working from the Walldorf office is regularly required, though not every day
