### Purpose of your Job
At Coriolis Pharma, we work at the forefront of biopharmaceutical innovation. As part of our Advanced Therapeutic Medical Products team, you will contribute your scientific expertise to the development and characterization of next‑generation nucleic acid–based therapies (NAT), including mRNA, siRNA and viral or cellular therapeutic modalities.
As Scientist (f/m/d), you will support customer projects within our contract research environment, working with cutting-edge technologies and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams across scientific operations.
### Your Responsibility
Project Execution & Scientific Contribution:
- Lead customer projects in nucleic acid therapeutics, including mRNA, siRNA and oligonucleotide formulations.
- Drive NAT-focused formulation development, comparability studies, stress testing, potency assays and stability assessments.
- Plan, execute and document analytical and formulation experiments in accordance with SOPs and project requirements.
- Analyze experimental data, participate in scientific discussions, and support reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Depending on experience, act as first or second project lead for selected customer projects.
- Proactively manage unexpected experimental results and contribute to troubleshooting activities.
Technical Expertise & Laboratory Excellence:
- Independently prepare formulations and conduct analytical experiments with accuracy, reliability and strong organizational skills.
- Apply and continuously grow your scientific expertise in relevant analytical methods and instrumentation.
- Support method transfer, implementation and optimization activities.
- Act as System Owner for defined laboratory equipment, ensuring proper maintenance, calibration and qualification.
- Ensure compliance with Good Research Practice (GRP) and uphold high laboratory standards.
Collaboration & Continuous Development:
- Contribute to process optimization and the integration of new technologies within the nucleic acid therapeutics (NATs) platform.
- Bring forward new ideas and actively support the scientific evolution of our nucleic acid–based therapies platform.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support onboarding and training of new colleagues and share expertise within the team.
### What you need to succeed
- University degree in (bio)chemistry, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy, or related field
- PhD or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience, ideally in environments working with NAT platforms, LNP technologies, or analytical laboratories supporting nucleic acid–based products
- Previous experience in laboratory-scale LNPs production (preferably with Ignite system)
- Hands‑on experience with analytical or formulation methods for LNPs and nucleic acid therapeutics
- Preferably practical experience in cell culture, cell‑based assays, and qPCR/dPCR
- Willingness to work in an S2 laboratory environment (essential)
- Previous exposure to working in regulated laboratory settings (e.g., GMP) and strong understanding of quality standards is beneficial
- Strong scientific writing skills; proficiency in MS Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Proactive, hands-on mindset with eagerness to learn new methods and technologies
- Team-oriented personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Structured, reliable and detail‑oriented working style
