You get to work on advancing power electronics used for Tesla products globally, thereby directly contributing to the acceleration of the world's transition to sustainable energy. ### What You’ll Do * First point of contact for technical and organizational matters within the team, fostering collaboration and clarity * Identify constraints in daily workflows, resolve challenges proactively, and escalate strategically when needed * Excel at motivating teams and providing guidance during complex or high-pressure projects * Design and build hardware of power electronics converters for use in automotive and energy storage applications * Start to finish ownership of hardware – from specification to design, prototype, reliability validation and high-volume manufacturing * Collaborate with mechanical, PCB layout, and firmware engineering teams * Architecture and modeling of new power converter topologies that achieve better performance ### What You’ll Bring * PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability * 4 or more years of relevant hands-on hardware experience in power converter (AC/DC, DC/DC & DC/AC) design while managing a team of Electrical Engineers * Experience with high voltage power semiconductor selection (Si/SiC/GaN MOSFET’s, Diodes), gate drive and protection circuit design * Strong comprehension of switching waveforms, Semi-conductor losses and experience with loss modeling * Solid proficiency of the theory and application of magnetics (inductors, transformers) and capacitors (Electrolytic, film and Ceramic) used for power conversion * Good experience with design analog/digital circuits, including circuit simulation tools, and micro-processors * Experience in supervision of PCB layout for minimal stray inductance and capacitance, placement strategies for better manufacturability, power/signal plane definition and EMC Tesla is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
