In the division Microfluidic Platforms at out Freiburg location, we are offering right away a position for a
# Mandatory internship in the field Liquid-Biopsy on microfluidic plattform (m/f/x)
Your Tasks
- In the field of liquid biopsy, you will support our team in developing methods for biomarker extraction from blood samples for cancer diagnostics.
- Specifically, you will conduct a series of experiments to extract extracellular vesicles from plasma.
- In doing so, you will investigate chromatography and filtration processes with the aid of microfluidic cartridges.
- Analyze the extracted vesicles using biochemical methods.
- You will be closely supported by our interdisciplinary team (engineering sciences, life sciences).
- Plan and document the experiments and present the results.
Your Profil
- You are currently enrolled in a degree program in biochemistry, biology, bioanalytics, biophysics, molecular medicine, life sciences, or a related natural science field and are required to complete a mandatory internship as part of your studies.
- You are characterized by an independent, systematic, and meticulous approach to your work. You plan and document experiments and present results.
- You are motivated to learn new methods, familiarize yourself with new subject areas, and are willing to work in a multidisciplinary research field.
- Knowledge of chromatography methods, immunoassays (ELISA), protein analysis, etc. is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
- Good German and/or English skills
