## About us:

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join the newly established Neuroepigenetics and Data Science group of Prof. Alena van Bömmel at the Biomedical Center of the Medical Faculty of the LMU. Our group develops new algorithms for multi-omics data integration at the intersection of data science and neuroepigenetics, aiming to unravel the complex mechanisms underlying brain cell function and neurodegenerative diseases. We are committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative research environment.

# PhD candidate – Bioinformatics – Neuroepigenetics and Data Science (m/f/x)

## Your tasks and responsibilities:

- Exploratory data analysis of large-scale genomic datasets
- Development of novel algorithms for multi-omics data integration
- Contribution to scientific publications and presentations
- Collaboration with other researchers

## Your qualifications:

- A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computer Science, or Mathematics or a related field
- Strong programming skills in R or Python
- Proficiency in Linux and high-performance computing (HPC) systems is a plus.
- Experience with NGS data analysis (e.g. RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, WGBS, ChIP-seq) is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis and interpret complex datasets
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Strong written and spoken English skills

The successful candidate will work on a project investigating the epigenetic regulatory mechanisms in neurodegenerative diseases using multi-omics single-cell and bulk sequencing data.
