Postdoc (all genders welcome)
This postdoc position should ibe filled by April 2025 with a contract initially limited to one year. The regular working hours will be 39.8 hours per week, and the salary corresponds to the E13 TV-L (100 %) level. The position is affiliated with the group of Prof. Dr. Tom Großmann (https://www.grossmannlab.com). The lab works at the interface of chemical biology and organic chemistry and focuses on the modulation of peptide and protein structures using chemical modifications.
The prospective candidate will design and synthesize modified and cyclic peptides and analyze their biophysical properties, in particular with respect to a covalent mode of action. This will involve high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry, MALDI-TOF MS measurements, as well as CD and UV-Vis spectroscopy.

- work in an interdisciplinary, inclusive, supportive, and international research environment
- develop a research project with scientific independence
- will travel to and collaborate with international partners
- receive personal supervision, and regular feedback
- be guided to supervise undergraduate and graduate students
Your profile
- You have completed or will soon complete your work towards a PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related areas and have a Master`s degree or diploma in this fields,
- have a strong background in solid-phase peptide synthesis,
- have experience with covalent protein modificaitons,
- have expertise in data processing and analysis,
- have good communication skills in written and spoken English,
- have experience working in an international team,
- be creative, and curious in acquiring new techniques
